It easy to get discouraged in church ministry, but last Sunday I was really encouraged (as I often am!). By sisters and brothers. Who prepared themselves by praying. Who prepared themselves by reading the fascinating story of Joseph in advance. Musicians who practised and came ready to lead us. Bible readers who practise their readings. Intercessors who prepare their prayers for us.  Service leaders who are ready to encourage us in their leading. KFC and Youth Group leaders. Ushers, welcomers, Communion assistants and servers, projector operators, sound desk experts. And cleaners who clean well. Flower arrangers who help make the place look attractive. Men who change light bulbs and women who keep up the supplies of toilet paper, hand cleanser, coffee and sugar. Caring cooks and baristas who prepare lovely coffee and food for morning tea. Inquisitive people who ask questions about the bible and the faith. Hospitable folk who welcome people into their homes for Bible study. Students (of various ages) who venture out on cold nights to encourage each other in studying God’s word together. Friendly folk who look out for the newcomers and the ones standing on their own. Organised people who administer finances, letters, minutes, agendas, Evangels. Creative people who design and produce attractive leaflets, banners, websites.  Young people who encourage others to trust Jesus and are brave enough to live as his disciples. Encouragers who pray with others, who listen, who remind their hurting friends of God’s grace and love.  And  ....

But I have become sidetracked. I was going to write about God answering prayers.
